久しぶりに引っ張り出したギブソンのセミアコ。
この間のライブの打ち上げで「ギブソンのレスポールを買おうかなー」という話を聞いたので。
レスポールギターはどうだこうだと雑談したんだけど、個人的にレスポールは好きじゃないんです。
それを言っちゃーおしめえなんですが、とにかく見た目が気に食わないのが一番。
あの「自分ロック一筋っす！」みたいなイメージがあってどうもね。あ、この話は超偏見ですよ。
ロック大好きだったら好きだったのかもなあ、高校生の頃はちょっと欲しかった。
二番目は、重い。あの大きさであの重さ！ストラトキャスターから入った自分が、
初めてレスポールを持った時はビックリしたなあ。子泣きジジイかと思ったよ。
もちろん良いところもあって、一番良いなーと思ったのがロックな音が出るところ。
やっぱレスポールってロックなギターなんだ。歪みサウンドが気持ちイイ。
ギャギャーンって歪みの音がガツンとキレイに出てくれるんだよね。
それとポーンと弦を弾いた時に、長～く鳴り続ける伸びのよさ。
スピッツはロックな曲もいっぱいあるから、ストラトとかテレキャスで演奏すると
「レスポールだったら楽なのに」 「レスポールじゃないとムリだあ」 ということがしばしばある。
そういえば、スピッツのギタリスト・三輪さんはレスポールを使ってるのに
スピッツコピーバンドのギタリストの方々はあんまり使ってないんだよなあ。
三輪さんのレスポールはシングルコイルを使ってるとか、そんな話を聞いたような。よく知らないけど。
そんなところもあって買ったのが、画像のギブソン・ES-335というギター。
見た目は違うけど、レスポールギターに使われるパーツと同じで
自分にとっては、カタチは違うけどレスポール！という位置づけです。
ただ、このサンサンゴ（ES-335）もけっこう重くて、さらに大きい。
大きいのは良い。図体のでかい自分が持ってもしっくりくるから。
「ギターが小さくみえる」って言われないから好き。
レスポールギターを悪いように言ったけど、結局は見た目が気に食わないだけで
サウンドに関してはやっぱり良いと思う。音作りも一番やりやすいし。
